Our mission is to help all Danish SMEs towards more sustainable production and ensure that Denmark achieves a 70% CO2e reduction by 2030. We are continuously expanding our team. Therefore, we are now looking for an HR professional to support us in the next chapter of our growth journey. The position is based at our Copenhagen Office.

About HR at SustainX 

SustainX is a dedicated team of sustainability enthusiasts. We are engineers, business developers, and project managers, working exclusively on providing complete sustainability solutions going from strategy to direct project execution. Founded in 2020, SustainX implemented the triple bottom line from day one. Our success is therefore measured on three variables: People, Planet, and Profit.

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced HR professional to help us develop our ‘People vision’ as well as perfecting our recruitment process and ensure that we set a strong team. We need you to help us identify and develop activities ensuring that SustainX becomes the workplace where our team members want to celebrate their 25th anniversary. We have dedicated 2022 to building a healthy foundation, ensuring that SustainX can grow to embrace 100+ team members in the years to come.

The Position as People and Culture Lead  

As SustainX new HR Lead, you will play a key role in developing and executing HR activities broadly in the organization. Furthermore, you will be involved in the overall business development of SustainX and the continued implementation of sustainability initiatives to ensure alignment with our sustainability mission, our corporate strategy, and stakeholder expectations.

What you can expect to get your hands on:

  • Designing and executing HR strategy across our organization and at both office locations,
  • Collaborate with senior management to define strategic ways to address short- and long-term objectives,
  • Help implement initiatives to support our goal of a 4-day workweek by 2023,
  • Develop a recruitment strategy and structure according to growth targets,
  • Develop our onboarding experience from A to Z,
  • Screen candidates and have 1st round of interviews and case/problem-solving assessments,
  • Create and execute internal employee assessments and implement initiatives based on findings,
  • Plan and facilitate team social events like excursion days, team days, anniversaries, etc.,
  • Facilitate training and development of individual team members in collaboration with senior management,
  • Continuous development of the SustainX bonus system,
  • Help ensure a healthy culture, which represents the things we do (how we speak, how we collaborate, and how we learn).

The perfect candidate is passionate about sustainable development, has experience driving HR activities, and enjoys collaborating with a passionate team. Furthermore, the SustainX HR Lead holds the following qualifications:

  • A solid generalist HR background with 2+ years of experience (preferable from a Danish company),
  • Strong interpersonal skills: collaboration, communication, and influence,
  • Strong knowledge of the Danish legal landscape and statutory requirements regarding employment legislation and collective bargaining agreements,
  • Ability to deliver on ambitious goals,
  • Ability to create strong relations with all levels of our organization,
  • Great listener and capability to anticipate, identify, and resolve employee issues,
  • Proactive and takes the initiative to solve identified challenges,
  • Strong communicative abilities and must be fluent in Danish and English (this is a must),
  • Holds a master’s degree from a relevant field and university within HR.

As SustainX is a young company, there are plenty of opportunities to grow and help shape the company and your position. The position is based at our Copenhagen Office on Nørrebro with the opportunity to work some days from home or at the HQ in Horsens. In 2021, till Q2 of 2022, the position can either be part-time or full time. From Q2 2022, the position is required to be full-time, and you can expect to oversee an HR team.
